Thermador Repair, Tuned for the Front Range

Thermador is the high-end alternative many Denver kitchens choose over Wolf — and we service the full BSH line, from Star-burner ranges to Freedom Induction. We are an independent shop, not a Thermador dealer, which keeps our scheduling and pricing flexible.

a Wolf gas cooktop with sealed burners

Thermador built its reputation on two things most brands never quite matched: the patented Star burner, whose star-shaped port pattern spreads flame wider and simmers lower than a round burner, and the Freedom Induction cooktop, a single continuous glass surface that lets a pan sit anywhere and follows it with the heat. Both are brilliant engineering. Both also fail in ways a generalist appliance tech rarely sees, because the parts and the control logic simply are not the same as a mainstream range.

We are Denver Wolf Repair, and although Wolf is our home brand, Thermador shares enough DNA — sealed high-BTU burners, dual-fuel oven cavities, precision electronics — that our factory-trained technicians work it every week. Thermador belongs to BSH (the Bosch group), so its igniters, spark modules, induction coils and Sapphire dishwasher pumps follow a different parts catalog than Wolf or Viking. Knowing that catalog, and carrying the right components on the van, is the difference between a one-visit fix and a week of waiting on the wrong ordered part.

What we service

The full Thermador line, not just the range

Professional and Masterpiece ranges, Freedom Induction, Sapphire dishwashers and the steam and speed ovens — we diagnose the whole appliance before we quote a part.

  • Star-burner ignition — clicking without lighting, weak spark, fouled igniters
  • Star burners running yellow, uneven or refusing the ExtraLow simmer
  • Freedom Induction glass, coils, cooling fans and control boards
  • Professional & Masterpiece dual-fuel oven elements and convection
  • Sapphire dishwasher pumps, spray arms, drainage and StarSpeed cycles
  • Steam and speed (Steam & Convection, MicroDrawer) oven faults
  • Gas valves, orifices and air-shutter adjustment for altitude
  • Touch controls, displays, relay boards and fault-code diagnosis
Why a specialist matters

A Star burner is not a round burner

a technician repairing a range

The Star burner's whole advantage — a wide, even flame and a genuinely usable low simmer — depends on clean combustion through that star-shaped port ring. Let it run rich and the flame goes tall and yellow, the ports soot over, and the ExtraLow setting starts cycling instead of holding a steady low flame. At Denver's 5,280 feet there is measurably less oxygen per cubic foot of air, so a Thermador shipped from a sea-level line is running rich the day it is installed here.

Freedom Induction is the opposite problem: no flame at all, just a full-surface array of coils, sensors and a control board reading pan position dozens of times a second. When it faults, the failure is electronic — a dead coil zone, a cracked glass top, an overheating cooling fan, or a board that has stopped recognizing cookware. We chase those with a meter and the correct BSH part, not guesswork. Tell us the model and the symptom on the phone and we load the van accordingly.

How we approach each Thermador appliance

Every line has its own common failures. Here is where we usually start.

Professional & Masterpiece ranges

Star-burner ignition, high-BTU flame quality, dual-fuel oven elements and convection accuracy — then an altitude recalibration so the oven actually bakes at the temperature you set.

Freedom Induction cooktop

Full-surface coil zones, cracked or scratched glass, cooling-fan and control-board faults, and pan-detection issues where the cooktop no longer follows the cookware.

Sapphire dishwasher

Circulation and drain pumps, spray-arm blockages, StarSpeed and delicate-cycle faults, leaks and door-latch problems on the flush-panel Sapphire models.

Steam & speed ovens

Steam-and-convection and MicroDrawer speed ovens — water-reservoir and steam-generator issues, door seals, magnetrons on speed models and control-panel faults.

Direct answer

Who repairs Thermador appliances in Denver?

Denver Wolf Repair is an independent, premium-appliance shop covering the Denver metro and Front Range. We service the full Thermador line — Star-burner ranges, Freedom Induction cooktops, Sapphire dishwashers and steam and speed ovens — with factory-trained technicians and factory-grade parts. Call (720) 790-9436, answered 24/7, or book online.

Direct answer

Is Denver Wolf Repair an authorized Thermador service center?

No. We are fully independent and are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Thermador, BSH or any manufacturer. Our technicians are factory-trained and we fit factory-grade parts, but that independence is what lets us stay flexible on scheduling and pricing.

Direct answer

Why does my Thermador Star burner burn yellow in Denver?

At 5,280 feet there is less oxygen per cubic foot of air, so a burner set at a sea-level factory runs rich — that is the tall, yellow, sooty flame. We readjust the air shutters and, where the model needs it, fit high-altitude orifices so the Star burner returns to a tight blue flame and holds its low simmer.

Thermador FAQ

Questions Thermador owners ask us

Do you carry Thermador parts, or do you order them?
Common Star-burner igniters, spark modules, oven elements and dishwasher parts ride on the van, so many repairs finish in a single visit. Because Thermador is a BSH brand, less common components follow the Bosch parts network, which we source directly when a specific board or coil is needed.
My Freedom Induction cooktop lost one zone — is the whole cooktop dead?
Usually not. The Freedom surface is driven by multiple coil sections and their own power boards, so a single dead area is often one coil or its driver rather than the entire cooktop. We isolate the failed section before recommending any replacement.
The Sapphire dishwasher isn't drying or draining well. Is it worth fixing?
Almost always, yes. Sapphire dishwashers are built to last, and most complaints trace to a clogged drain path, a tired circulation pump, or a spray arm that has stopped turning — all repairable at a fraction of replacement cost.
Do you service Thermador if I have other premium brands too?
Yes. Alongside Thermador and Wolf we regularly service Sub-Zero, Viking, Miele, Gaggenau, Dacor and Bosch, so a mixed high-end kitchen can be handled in one visit rather than several.
How much does a Thermador diagnosis cost?
A flat $89 service call covers the on-site diagnosis, and it applies toward the repair if you choose to proceed. You always get a firm price before any work begins — final pricing is set after the inspection, never over the phone.

Called Monday about our Wolf range — burners were running hot after we moved in. Technician arrived Tuesday with parts already on the truck. Turns out the altitude orifices had been installed wrong by the previous owner. Calibrated on the spot, everything has been precise since. Very professional, explained every step.

Our Wolf oven was reading 50 degrees low — we'd been overcompensating for months. The tech tested it, replaced the temp sensor, and re-ran calibration. Baking has been completely different since. Honest diagnostic, fair price, no upselling.
David Chen
Three igniter clicks on the left burner, then nothing. A different company quoted replacing the entire control board — nearly $900. Denver Wolf Repair diagnosed a faulty igniter module and fixed it for a fraction of that. Trust the specialists.
Sarah T.Cherry Creek
Wolf dual-fuel range with erratic simmer on the gas side. Technician found the altitude conversion had never been completed by the original installer — corrected it in under an hour. At 5,280 feet this is apparently common. Highly recommend for anyone with a similar setup.
Robert K.
Sub-Zero stopped cooling — called at 7 am, someone was here by 11. Condenser fan, which they had in the van. Groceries were saved. These technicians clearly know this equipment cold.
Lisa P.Stapleton
Wolf range hood stopped capturing smoke. Tech found a failing blower motor, ordered the part and installed it within two days. No upsell attempts, no unnecessary extras. Clean and done right.
Mark H.Highlands
Scheduling was easy, tech was on time. Oven door seal was cracked and they replaced it cleanly. Would have given 5 stars but had to wait a few extra days for the part. Otherwise thorough diagnostics and honest about what actually needed fixing.
Amanda W.LoDo
Control board on our Wolf oven started throwing error codes. I dreaded a huge bill, but the tech walked me through exactly what was wrong before touching anything. Repair was done same visit. Professional from first call to sign-off.
